beautiful setting and details…oh my! and one of the sweetest couples around. Catherine and Zack met at Davidson College in North Carolina, and Charleston holds special memories for them. It’s the place they started dating, where Zack proposed and – full circle now – where they tied the knot! Specifically, at the historic Legare Waring House in the heart of Charles Towne Landing. The avenue of oaks in front of the house is simply stunning!
Catherine and her mom put so much time and planning to all the special details that make this wedding a reflection of Zack and Catherine’s taste. It was a full sensory experience. There were loads of visual details, including wildflowers by First Bloom of Charleston. There were antique doilies, quilt yo-yos, mirrors and milk glass that Catherine and her mother scoured flea markets and antique malls to find. Something we’ve never experienced, but really enjoyed was lavender…everywhere! There were wreaths, it was scattered down the aisle and around the tables where guests mingled; the bride and groom even ran (ducked) to their getaway car through a shower of lavender!
Catherine’s uncle deals in antiques and was on the lookout for some very cool pieces. He’s quite crafty as well (must run in the family!) and made the backdrop for the ceremony from an old iron gate and shutters from Charleston…how cool! oh, and he also made one of my (mel’s) favorite features from the day – the “zack” and “catherine” signs. The lounge area was beautiful and comfortable. Special thanks to Charleston Celebrations for planning such a wonderful event!
we could keep going and going about the lovely couple and the thoughtful details of the day but it’s best to let these images speak for themselves! what are your favorites from this wedding? do you want to see more?
